Parents Association & Volunteering

Our teachers and staff do so much for our students and parents alike, but there never seem to be enough opportunities for us to thank them! Periodically throughout the year, and especially at parent-teacher conference times, we rely on parent volunteers to lend a hand by cooking or buying a dish for a staff appreciation lunch at the school, helping with set up or clean up, and general assistance with various staff appreciation efforts.

This fair is a celebration of the heritage, traditions, and passions of our Green Acres families. Share your family heritage and traditions by hosting a family booth, bringing a favorite family dish to the potluck, performing at the fair, or volunteering to help with an activity.

Whether you have a green thumb or not, volunteers are needed periodically throughout the year to help with various gardening projects around the school. This is another great opportunity to get the entire family involved!

The annual giving program at Green Acres School is our primary philanthropic effort. Our remarkable community shows long-standing support for this campaign with active participation each year. The program is directed by the school’s Advancement Office.

Assisting with prospective family open houses, reaching out to potential new families, and sharing your experiences as a current member of the school community are just a few of the many volunteer opportunities you will have as you help out our Admission team with all the various admission events.

A celebration involving the entire school community from Pre-K through 8th grade, this is an event that warms the heart and highlights the essence of Green Acres School. Parents partner up with Middle School students and help serve a delicious catered lunch for the students and staff while listening to wonderful musical performances by Green Acres students.

Whether you have library experience, a love of books, or just like to be helpful to our wonderful library staff, this is a great opportunity to spend a few volunteer hours or a whole day.

Held on campus and run entirely by volunteers and our library staff, the four-day festival features various volunteer opportunities from set up to clean up, assisting children with wish lists, helping with the bake sale, and assisting with evening family activities. The Book Festival is kicked off with a spin cycle event, with proceeds benefitting teacher appreciation and spirit week throughout the week. There also are evening family activities for all to enjoy.
