When Alice Mendham Powell opened Green Acres School in her home, she did so with the support of a community of teachers and parents.
Eighty-seven years later, our students continue to benefit from this incredible learning environment because of our strong community: from excellent teachers who are dedicated to their students, to parents who are involved in the life of the school and who make Green Acres their philanthropic priority, to trustees who devote countless hours to stewarding both our school’s present and future.
The philanthropic support of our parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni families, staff, and friends enable Green Acres to:
Support teacher salaries and benefits;
Provide financial aid for families;
Make improvements to our campus;
Enhance our use of technology in the classrooms;
Provide tricycles, a gaga pit, and playhouses to enhance our students' experience of the outdoors;
And so much more.
