Annie and Aimee 2019

When Alice Mendham Powell opened Green Acres School in her home, she did so with the support of a community of teachers and parents.Eighty-five years later, our students continue to benefit from this incredible learning environment because of our strong community: from excellent teachers who are dedicated to their students, to parents who are involved in the life of the school and who make Green Acres their philanthropic priority, to trustees who devote countless hours to stewarding both our school’s present and future.

The Office of Institutional Advancement works with our incredible Green Acres School Parents Association (GASPA), does all of the fundraising for the school, keeps in touch with our alumni and alumni families, and steps in wherever we can to keep Green Acres a thriving, inclusive, exciting place to learn and grow up. Green Acres couldn’t possibly accomplish all that we do each year without our active and supportive community.  Countless volunteers chair school events, chaperone field trips, serve as Grade Parent Reps, work for the Admission Office, help in the library, or volunteer in many other ways, and we are deeply grateful.

The years of philanthropic support of our parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni families, staff, and friends enables Green Acres to:

  • Support teacher salaries and benefits;
  • Provide financial aid for families;
  • Make improvements to our campus;
  • Create engineering arts classes in middle school;
  • Enhance our use of technology in the classrooms;
  • Install a greenhouse;
  • Provide tricycles, a gaga pit, playhouses, and more to enhance our students' experience of the outdoors.

We are thankful for the support of the Green Acres community.

Warmly,
