Author Hena Khan will speak about her experiences writing books that represent American Muslims, promote understanding, and build tolerance and compassion. Referencing her background growing up as a Muslim American, Ms. Khan discusses how the climate has changed since she was a child, why she writes her books, and the impact she sees them have.

Ms. Khan is a Pakistani-American who was born and raised in Maryland, where she still lives. She enjoys writing about her culture and religion, as well as all sorts of other subjects from spies to space travel. She is the author of Night of the Moon (2008), Golden Domes and Silver Lanterns (2012), It's Ramadan, Curious George (2016), and Amina's Voice (2017) among others.
