Physical Education

The focus of the Lower School Physical Education program is to support children in building a passion for physical activity. The program instills a sense of importance in promoting fitness, wellness, and an overall healthy attitude towards exercise and the benefits it provides. Most importantly, the Physical Education department promotes respect for the uniqueness and differences of self and others through a wide variety of games and activities. Students work on developing their sportsmanship and team-building skills. There is also a great spotlight on having activities that are fun and engaging.

The main goals are for all students to feel comfortable and confident about their own abilities and to continue to develop a sense of cooperative learning. An introduction to team-oriented games is an important objective at this level, with an emphasis on teamwork and the basic rules of various sports.
