Steps to Apply
Welcome! We are excited about your interest in Green Acres School and we look forward to meeting you and getting to know your family. We are currently accepting applications for the 2016–2017 and 2017–2018 school years.
The first step to learn more about Green Acres School is to contact us. We understand what an important decision your child's education is and we want you to have the time and the opportunity to really get to know us.
We offer weekend, evening, and school-day open house events and tours. Please feel free to attend as many as you wish. We look forward to talking with you and taking you on a tour.

- Sunday, 4/23/17 – Discovery Day (1–3:30 PM).
Discover Green Acres at its best through engaging, experiential activities led by our teachers and tailored for each grade level. Our 15-acre campus will be your canvas for creating, exploring, and getting hands-on while learning more about our progressive approach to education. The whole family is encouraged to attend. - Wednesday, 5/10/17 – Walk-In Wednesday (9–10:30 AM).
Spend some time with us getting to know Green Acres in an intimate setting. Learn how we learn as members of our admission team narrate your experience while you observe our teachers and students working collaboratively around our campus. Space is limited; to reserve a space, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Wednesday, 5/17/17 – Green60 (4–5 PM). For ages 2–6.
An hour of fun and adventure for kids in our community. The afternoon will start with story time in the Library and an activity and snack. Weather permitting, the children will have the opportunity to enjoy the playground! If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we'll have the perfect art project for a rainy day. You can apply online, or print and mail an application to the School. The $75 application fee may be paid online with a credit card or you may send a check with your application payable to Green Acres School. The application deadline is Monday, January 23, 2017.
Once we receive your application and fee, we will call you to schedule a parent interview and a school visit for your child.

Applicants to Pre-K and K participate in a group visit. If the application deadline has passed, prospective students are scheduled for a visit with the current class and will visit for part of a day.
First grade applicants will visit in a classroom for a full day.
Students applying to Grades 2–8 will visit for two full days.

Applicants to Kindergarten - 8th grades are required to submit the results of a recent admission evaluation. This evaluation may be administered by an educational diagnostician of your choice.
- For applicants to Pre-K, admission testing is optional
- Applicants to K–1st grade (up to age 6) are required to take the WPPSI-IV
- Applicants to 2nd–5th grade (or those 6 and over) are required to take the WISC-V
- Applicants to 6th–8th grade are required to take the WISC-V (preferred), SSAT, or ISEE
Click here for more information and a list of a few testing centers. We include the list for your reference. It is not comprehensive and we do not endorse one center over any others. It is important to note that your child may be tested by any qualified tester you choose, whether or not they are on the attached list.
If you are applying to the 6th–8th grade and choose to take either the ISEE or SSAT, please find complete registration and fee information on the websites for ISEE and SSAT. The Green Acres code for the ISEE is 211158. For the SSAT it is 3561.
Arrange to have your child’s complete current year and previous year's school records and the student recommendation form (completed by your child's main teacher) sent directly to the Admission Office.
We also accept recommendation forms from Independent Education (formerly known as AISGW).
