Ida F. Haimovicz Visual Arts Award recognizes student's photography portfolio

Danya F. ’11 received the Ida F. Haimovicz Visual Arts Award from the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County (AHCMC) at a reception on November 6, 2014. The award, which goes to the high school senior with the best visual arts portfolio in Montgomery County, recognized Danya’s black and white photography. 

Danya began her photography career at Green Acres in the 7th grade and some of the prints on display were taken while she was in the 8th grade. During her acceptance speech, she praised Green Acres photography teacher Victor Stekoll (pictured) as an inspirational figure in her development.
