After School
When you love school as much as our students do, staying on campus after dismissal is something to look forward to.
PM Care & Extra Care (Pre-K–Grade 8)
Green Acres offers its families a PM Care program from the end of the school day until 6 PM. Extra Care is also available from 8 AM–5 PM on select days when school is closed for conferences or professional development. PM Care offers yearly contracts for 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week. The program provides students with a safe environment for children after school; an opportunity for children to interact, play, and develop relationships; mandatory homework time for 3rd–8th grades; and a generous snack.
Athletics Program (Grade 5–8)
Our after-school athletics program offers students an opportunity to participate fully on a number of teams, including soccer, cross-country, basketball, and track and field. At least 80% of our Middle Schoolers participate regularly in at least two sports during their time at Green Acres.
Enrichment Classes (Kindergarten & Up)
The after-school enrichment program offers after-school classes designed to enhance your child’s educational experience. Classes are offered throughout the school year in three sessions. Recent offerings have included chess, debate, martial arts, cooking, STEAM, and soccer.
Homework Club (Grades 5–8)
The Green Acres School Homework Club is offered to students Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3–4 PM. Homework Club is for students who want:
- A supervised, quiet study time.
- Help with organization of time and materials needed for homework completion.
- To make up class work or tests missed during absences.
- Access to school computers in order to complete school assignments.
- To work collaboratively with peers on assigned class work or projects.
