Counselors create a warm, secure classroom environment where campers are exposed to a wide variety of materials and guide them in open-ended, hands-on activities to ignite their natural curiosity and creativity. The activities provide opportunities to both introduce and broaden the camper's understanding of the chosen subject area.
Senior Camp program is designed and taught to be developmentally appropriate and to take advantage of a camper's maturation and expanding skill set. The camper's day consist of 4 activities. After the 3-weeks, the campers can choose to continue with the same activities or choose new ones. This summer the senior campers will be able to choose between 3 tracks. Within these tracks, the campers will be divided into 4 pods consisting of 10 campers. The pods will rotate from one class to the next. The campers will stay in their track and pod for 3-weeks. After the 3-weeks, the campers will be given the choice of staying in their track or moving into a new one. Track 1 consists of swimming lessons, Game Wizard, Sports (combination of Team GAC and Tournament Ball), and Pi Club. Track 2 is Art Now, Dance Jam/Poms, Clay & Glaze and Young Writers. Track 3 has Environmental Science, 3-Creations, Filmstars and Book Buzz. Below are the class descriptions.
In addition to exciting activities, Unit E and F campers can enjoy outdoor education with a one-night, two-day overnight trip at Echo Hill Outdoor School. Units G, H & I have a two-night, three-day overnight trip at Echo Hill. Click for more information on the outdoor education program.
Units G, H, and I also enjoy weekly day trips, such as bowling or visiting trampoline parks, which provides additional opportunities for our senior campers to bond.
Please note: Overnights and Day Trips will not occur this summer. The COVID-19 plan is to provide Unite G, H, and I special on-campus activities instead of day trips. A special activity could be on-campus laser tag.
