Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration: Service, Reflection, Community | Monday, 1/18, 9:30–10:30 AM

We invite the Green Acres Community to join us virtually for our “Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration: Service, Reflection, Community." It is a time for sharing what this day means to our community and your family, and for sharing how we celebrate and honor Dr. King’s legacy through service projects, books read, conversations shared, time for singing, and time to reflect.

During the gathering, participants of any age are invited to create a card or picture representing peace, friends, helping, and welcoming others that can be sent to isolated residents in the community.

Over the past years, service in the community has been a way to honor Dr. King’s legacy. We know there are many opportunities to serve and that your family may already be involved in projects in your community. This document provides information about local service projects that address food insecurity, social isolation, and need for play and recreation that we thought the Green Acres community could support. Feel free to engage with any of the projects this month and throughout the year.
