The Inclusion and Diversity Committee (IDC) invites you and your family to join the Green Acres community for a visit to the National Museum of African American History and Culture on Saturday January 18 at 10 AM. As part of the IDC year-long focus on race and racism, this museum provides an amazing opportunity to deepen our understanding of the central role African Americans played in American history, the legacy of slavery, and to explore this history and culture through interactive exhibitions. We will meet at the museum at 9:45 AM.

The National Museum of African American History and Culture is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture. It was established by Act of Congress in 2003, following decades of efforts to promote and highlight the contributions of African Americans. To date, the Museum has collected more than 36,000 artifacts and nearly 100,000 individuals have become members.”

There currently are 40 tickets available for the January 18, 10 AM visit. Every person needs their own ticket, regardless of age.
