No matter when they begin their Green Acres journey, students are adept at self-assessment and reflection by the time they reach 8th grade. They know themselves deeply as learners, allowing them to be successful at a wide variety of high schools, from independent schools, to magnet programs, to their local public schools.

What does the process of applying to high schools look like?
Beginning in 7th grade, families attend informational sessions to understand their high school options and the overall application process from testing to timelines. During the summer transition from 7th to 8th grade, the Middle School Head meets individually with students and their families to understand their search criteria, desired high school experience, and specific goals and questions. This personalized partnership continues throughout the year, with the Middle School Head coordinating practice interview sessions for students and Middle School teachers providing one-on-one advisement regarding applications and essays upon request. While students take responsibility for their high school applications, the Middle School team's guidance and mentorship makes the process manageable and achievable.
