Head of School Search

In May, Neal M. Brown, Head of School since 2008, announced his plan to leave Green Acres following the 2019-2020 school year. We are grateful for Neal’s service to the school and his long commitment to this community, and we are actively engaged in a search for his successor. The Board of Trustees and all members of the Search Committee are pleased to be working with Doreen Oleson, a search consultant from RG175.

Search Process Calendar

  • Summer and Early September: Doreen worked with school leaders to structure the search process
  • Position posted on the Educational Directions Blue Sheet: this is a very basic listing without a position description to garner early interest. To date, over 24 inquiries have come in from interested parties!
  • By the end of September, full position description posted on a wide variety of sites.
  • End of September–end of October: Doreen actively recruiting for our position and doing initial candidate reviews
  • November 1: Applications due
  • November 2-14: Search committee reviews applications and makes decision on semifinalists
  • November 23-24: Search committee conducts semifinalist interviews
  • December: Finalists visit the school, contract negotiations
  • End of December or early January: Official announcement of new Head
  • July 1, 2020: First day for new Head
