Steps to Apply

Here are the steps to apply to Green Acres School.

  1. Tours: Call us at 301 881-4100, ext. 189, or click here to arrange a personal tour.

  2. Application form: Although our application due date for fall 2012 has passed, we will consider late applications on a space available basis. In some grades we have openings for the current year. You can apply online or print and send an application to the School. The $75 application fee may be paid online with a credit card or you may send a check with your application payable to Green Acres School. Once we receive your application and fee we will call you to schedule a parent interview and a school visit for your child.

  3. Interview: The interview, which is for parents only, offers opportunities for you to ask additional questions about Green Acres and to share goals or concerns you may have about your child.

  4. Student visit: Students applying to pre-kindergarten or kindergarten will visit for part of a day. First grade applicants will visit in a classroom for a full day. Students applying to grades 2-8 will visit for two days.

  5. School records: Arrange to have your child’s complete current school records sent to our Admission Office. Use the Request for School Records form. Specific testing is not required for our admission process. You are welcome to submit the results of tests or evaluation if you believe they would help us understand your child’s learning styles, strengths, and needs.

  6. Recommendations: Arrange to have a Student Recommendation Form completed by a current teacher and returned directly to the Admission Office. We accept recommendation forms from Independent Education (formerly known as the AISGW.)
