It’s June, and you know what that means... It’s time for CAMP! Are you ready? You may want to review the May blog to make sure you have everything you need.
We are very excited to welcome campers to Green Acres this summer. We have been preparing our classrooms, practicing our songs, and getting ready to meet you on Monday morning. It is going to be a fabulous summer!
If this is your child’s first time going to camp, you may want to have some conversations about how much fun he/she will have and the exciting activities that are available. Don’t worry if there are tears at the beginning. The counselors are experienced and will be sure to make your child feel comfortable and welcome. Before you know it, your child will be so involved with camp; tears will be replaced with songs and laughter. If you have any concerns or questions, be sure to contact your child’s Unit Leader.
If you are interested in learning more about what is happening at camp, we have several ways for you to keep in touch. Consider using the following:
- CampMinder (Camp in Touch) for photos, videos, and more
- Facebook (Green Acres Camp) for pictures and reports from around camp
- Twitter (@GreenAcresCamp1) for daily bus departure times and other quick updates
- Instagram (@GreenAcresCamp) for more photos from camp
Some photos from our orientation and open house are already available for viewing!
It looks like we are in for some hot weather, so be sure your child is dressed appropriately, carries a reusable water bottle, and brings sunscreen. We want everyone to be as comfortable as possible in order to enjoy all that camp has to offer.
So pack those backpacks, make sure you know your bus or carpool information, and get a good night’s sleep! We’ll see you in the morning!
Green Acres; it’s the place to be!!
