Ethics

After a yearlong study of Ethics and Community Service, 8th graders compiled a book of collective wisdom that the Class of 2009 would like to share with future eighth grade students. The headings in the book were selected by the students. They could choose any five topics about which to write. The primary purpose of the book is to give advice to future 8th grade students about how to live to an ethical life. In their opinion, that means being aware of one’s disposition to being kind to others and then acting upon it. You’ll note that they were not always successful in their efforts, but they hope that through their reflections and guidance you will think about how your actions affect others. Ethics, as they learned, is not simply choosing between right and wrong; ethics is others.
